Starling
The starling nests in October often returning to the site of the previous years nest. It can be encouraged to nest in the garden by the provision of a nesting box.
The nesting box is best to be put up in the winter so as the birds get used to the nest box and choose it as a nest site before the breeding season.
Starlings are a very useful birds to encourage to the garden as the probe the lawns for insects and worms and are a great way to naturally control grass grub.
At the bird table they will eat fruit and scraps and enjoy a firm platform table or feeder.
